The Harwich Society Quiz Team run a monthly General Knowledge quiz in the Royal Oak public house and, in addition, run occasional music quiz nights spread throughout the year. The November music quiz has become an annual fund raiser for Saint Helena Hospice and this year’s event will take place on Monday 13th November beginning at 8PM.
Garry Calver from the Harwich Society Quiz Team says, “In addition to our regular monthly GK quiz nights we try to run three or four music quizzes a year for local good causes. The November music quiz has become an annual fund raiser for Saint Helena Hospice which is so important within our local community. It’s a very special night for us.”
The music quizzes have become very popular over the years and include something for everyone. Each quiz consists of 100 pieces of popular music from the 1960s through to the present day and all teams have to do is identify the artist.
“There is always laughter from the very beginning and by the end of the evening everyone is singing,” continued Garry Calver. “At £2 per head for teams of up to 8 people it’s a great way to have fun while raising money for a very good cause.”
