The Harwich Society offers free guided tours to individuals every Saturday between May and September. These tours start at the Ha’penny Pier Visitor Centre at 2.00pm, there is no need to book in advance.

The Harwich Society also offers tailormade tours of Harwich to cruise ship visitors, any organization or groups throughout the year, starting at £2 per person*. For a small extra charge these can include entrance to the Redoubt Fort, Maritime Museum, Lifeboat Museum, Radar Tower, and, subject to availability, the Electric Palace Cinema. It is often possible to arrange for the Harwich Town Crier to welcome school groups on arrival at no extra charge.

There is a wealth of history to be seen in the old town and the Harwich Society has thirty years of experience in organizing these tours. All walks include a visit inside the unique Treadwheel Crane on Harwich Green. Leave it to the experts!

Guided tours of Victorian Dovercourt are also available to groups.

The Society’s Nature Reserve at Bobbit’s Hole in Dovercourt can also be visited.
