Writing the History on the walls

In 1970 the Harwich Society first devised the idea of plaques on buildings and sites which commemorate some historic association. There are now more than twenty of them spread all around the town.

Made of cast aluminium, they measure approximately 30 inches by 12 inches, and have proved popular and informative.
