UPDATED! There will be plenty to see in Harwich on Easter weekend

UPDATE: The Treadwheel Crane  will be open on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 11AM until 3PM.  Admission is free.

 

The Harwich Society’s visitor attractions will soon be opening their doors for the 2024 season but, in addition, almost all of them will be opening for Easter weekend so that Harwich is a great place to visit during the four day break.

The Bobbit’s Hole Nature Reserve opens every Sunday of the year between 10AM and 12 noon and is free of charge to visit.

Many other attractions staffed by Harwich Society volunteers will be opening their doors over the Easter weekend and the days, times and entrance fees are as follows:

Christopher Jones’ house will be open on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 11AM until 3PM with free admission.

The Ha’penny Pier Visitor Centre will be open on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10AM until 4.30PM with free admission.

The Redoubt Fort will be open on Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10AM until 4PM.  Admission is £5 for adults with free admission for accompanied children.

The Lifeboat Museum will be open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 11AM until 3PM.  Admission is £1 with free admission to accompanied children.

The Maritime Museum will be open on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10AM until 4PM.  Admission is £1 with free admission to accompanied children.

The Treadwheel Crane  will be open on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 11AM until 3PM.  Admission is free.

The High Lighthouse will be open Easter Sunday 10AM – 3PM. Admission £2

Unfortunately, the Radar Tower will be not be open over Easter.

The Harwich Society chairman, Colin Farnell, says , “Our fantastic team of volunteers have been busy over the winter months to ensure that all of our visitor attractions will be ready for the 2024 season.  Almost all of them will be opening over the Easter weekend which means that Historic Harwich is the perfect place to visit during the four day break.”
