Society Winter programme begins

With the busy summer season drawing to a close the Harwich Society begins its Winter programme on Friday 27th September. Throughout the winter months the Society holds monthly meetings on the last Friday of each month featuring a guest speaker. These meetings are extremely popular amongst members and cover a very wide range of topics.

The meetings take place in the Navigator in Barrack Lane and begin at 7.30PM. Entrance is free of charge to all Harwich Society members.

The opening talk of the season will be given by Linda Cook on the subject of ‘The history of the RNLI lifeboats’.

Harwich Society chairman, Colin Farnell, says, “Many Harwich Society members find our Winter programme of monthly talks the highlight of the year and we have a wide range of very interesting speakers. It’s a feature of Harwich Society membership that many people are unaware of but it proves very popular.”
