The Harwich Society Quiz Team runs quiz nights on the 1st Monday of each month at the Royal Oak public house to raise funds for the Harwich Society. The team also run quizzes for specific, local good causes and, on Monday night, the Royal Oak was packed as a quiz in aid of Saint Helena Hospice raised £300.
The Society’s Quiz Master, Colin Perry, says, “We like to think we offer a good quiz with a lot of laughs and there was certainly a lot of laughter at our quiz for Saint Helena Hospice. If you can raise money for a very good cause while having a good time then it’s not a bad way to spend an evening.”
Twelve teams totalling 65 people took part in the quiz which was won by the Cliff. The Royal Oak very generously donated the hall free of charge and the Harwich Society Quiz Team are now preparing for their usual monthly quiz on Monday 3rd February.
“You don’t have to be a member of the Harwich Society to take part in our quiz nights and we are always pleased to see new faces,” continued Colin Perry. “Our next monthly quiz is on 3rd February and I’m sure everyone will be laughing as much as they were at our quiz for Saint Helena Hospice.”
