Music and comedy as the Harwich Society prepares for Christmas

For many Harwich Society members the programme of monthly talks scheduled throughout the winter months are the highlight of the Harwich Society calendar.

On the last Friday of each month there is a meeting with a guest speaker and these events are free of charge to all Harwich Society members.

As we begin the run up to Christmas the Society is particularly looking forward to this Friday’s (26th November) guest speaker who is Steve Galler, a variety entertainer with a career spanning over forty years.

Known as ‘the man with the golden banjo’, Steve Galler often appeared on BBC TV’s ‘The Good Old Days’ and is a member of the Grand Order of Water Rats. His talk is a mixture of music and comedy and takes his audience through his long and fascinating career.

Chairman of the Harwich Society, Colin Farnell, says, “Steve Galler will be a perfect way to warm up for Christmas and we are all very much looking forward to hearing about his long career and enjoying his music and comedy. It’s another example of the wide variety of topics covered by the Harwich Society’s winter programme of monthly meetings.”

The meeting takes place this Friday (26th November) at the Navigator in Barrack Lane and commences at 7.30PM
