KIND DONATION MADE TO BOBBIT’S HOLE NATURE RESERVE

The recent reporting of a spillage of cooking oil into the local drainage system resulting in the stream and lake at the Harwich Society’s Bobbit’s Hole nature reserve being coated in an oily scum has resulted in a very kind and very useful donation.

The Environmental Protection Team at Haltermann Carless became aware of the incident and, as a result, Haltermann Carless has donated a supply of spillage collection booms which are designed to sit on the surface of the water and collect any unnatural substances that might threaten the natural environment and wildlife.

Colin Farnell from the Harwich Society’s Bobbit’s Hole team, says, “We are extremely grateful to Haltermann Carless for this incredibly kind donation as it will serve as a protection against a future similar incident.  Whilst the best protection is such substances not being placed into local drains and gulleys, knowing that we have these collection booms in place is a big relief.”
