Harwich Society talk features local historian

Throughout the winter months the Harwich Society runs a monthly meeting with a guest speaker and many interesting and humorous subjects are covered.

The monthly talk taking place in the Navigator Hall, in Barrack Lane, Harwich on Friday 25th November and starting at 7.30PM is no exception with local historian, Norman Jacobs, giving a talk titled ‘Pie ‘n mash ‘n prefabs’ about his childhood growing up in Hackney during the 1950s.

Harwich Society chairman, Colin Farnell, says, “For many Harwich Society members the winter programme of monthly talks is the highlight of the Harwich Society year and they are always well attended and enthusiastically received. Norman Jacobs is very interesting and entertaining so I am sure that Friday’s talk will be very well received.”
