One of the benefits to Harwich Society membership is that all members receive the very popular quarterly magazine, Highlight. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the magazine will not be published until further notice.
Harwich Society chairman, Colin Farnell, says, “Not only are there difficulties in producing the magazine, there is also the issue of delivering it. Highlight is delivered by hand by a team of local volunteers and, however popular our magazine is, I don’t think delivering it would qualify as a necessary journey!”
The other immediate Harwich Society casualty is the AGM which was due to be held in April but which has now been postponed until further notice.
“The existing officers and trustees will continue to oversee the Harwich Society until an AGM can be held,” continued Colin Farnell. “Our wonderful army of volunteers will not be enjoying the inactivity but nothing is more important than preventing the spread of this virus.”
