Food Stories Exhibition in Harwich

On Monday and Tuesday 27th and 28th June, the historic Christopher Jones House at 21 King’s Head Street Harwich is very proud to be hosting the “Food Stories” exhibition.

This travelling exhibition from the Museum of East Anglian Life celebrates East Anglian recipes, cooking, farming techniques and dialect words that have been passed down through generations.

The centrepiece of the exhibition is a farm kitchen table featuring local recipes, photos, sound recordings and objects from the museum’s collection.

The University of Leeds is also involved, sharing historic sound recordings and also providing an opportunity for visitors to write down or record their own local dialect words.

Visitors are also encouraged to share their favourite or family recipes and bring along copies to add to the ever-growing display.

The exhibition is free and is open on both Monday and Tuesday 27th and 28th June from 10AM until 4PM.
